What if the most important things in life — memory, desire, protection,

legacy — could be preserved like artifacts? Hidden like keys?

The Invisible City Chronicles follows five interconnected stories across 70 years, united by an extraordinary secret: beneath New York City lies a hidden network of keys, placed by a 1920s society called The Kindling to preserve what industrialization tried to destroy — the ability to truly feel.

From a father and son competing for the same woman in 1970s Brooklyn, to a scarred teenager infiltrating corruption in small-town Pennsylvania, to a pregnant artist discovering she carries something ancient — each story reveals how love, memory, protection, desire, and legacy get passed between generations, often by people who don't even know they're part of something larger.

A struggling father. A tongue-tied son. A reckless protector. A visionary artist. Each holds a key. None of them know what it means. Yet.

These aren't stories about saving the world. They're about saving what makes us human.

ABOUT THE KINDLING

THE SECRET SOCIETY THAT STARTED IT ALL

In the 1920s and '30s, as industrialization threatened to mechanize human emotion, a secret network of educators, artists, social workers, and healers discovered something extraordinary: deep beneath New York City, natural chambers where sound and geology created spaces of profound focus and intuition.

They called themselves The Kindling — those who kept the flame of human connection alive.

Operating from these hidden underground sanctuaries, they foresaw how the modern world would disconnect people from their essential emotional technologies: the ability to remember, to desire authentically, to protect what matters, to leave meaningful legacies, and to love without transaction.

So they created a preservation system — mystical keys encoded with these "technologies of the heart," hidden throughout the city at specific locations where natural energy could amplify and protect them. Then they scattered, trusting that future generations would find what they needed when they needed it most.

The keys have been waiting. The stories are just beginning.

About

Sunshine Writing Company is a story studio dedicated to building original narrative worlds grounded in strong plot architecture and mythic undercurrents.

We believe story works best when character and plot are equally disciplined — when emotional truth is carried forward by intention, structure, and consequence.

Not character without momentum.
Not plot without soul.
And never spectacle without meaning.

Our work begins in the space between the tangible and the unseen: grounded in human experience, attentive to myth, memory, and the subtle forces that shape who people become. Structure matters. Pacing matters. Choices matter.

Sunshine Writing Company develops original narrative worlds, long-form stories, and interconnected projects designed to grow with their audience. Some stories are intimate. Others are expansive. All are built with care for voice, architecture, and meaning.

We develop original IP across multiple formats, including screenplays, graphic novels, and transmedia story worlds. Our flagship project, Headphone Girl & Graffiti Boy, opens the door to a larger connected universe known as The Invisible City Chronicles — a collection of stories exploring how hidden lives, unspoken histories, and personal myths shape the world.

While genre and tone may vary, the throughline remains consistent: stories grounded in humanity, shaped by structure, and illuminated by moments of quiet truth.

Sunshine Writing Company exists to build stories that linger — not just in memory, but in feeling.

We tell stories that listen as much as they speak.
